  • Woohoo! Look at me go! I start feeling sorry for myself for 2 posts, and pull of the most comments and e-props in one week I have got since joining xanga! *Does a little dance*

Either people like reading my whiny bitch posts or this whole new features type thingy i am trying to run is drawing in more readers. Either way, it is working for me. Hopefully I won’t rocket back down to 0 subscriptions comments, etc now that i have returned to my usual happy go lucky self. But then, do I really want to purposely keep myself miserable just to get attention that i won’t be able to be happy about without losing it? Hmm such a dilemma

On to other things. I gotta say I like living in Los Angeles. Aside from the traffice, it is a fun city. But it seems like it has become a trendy thing to hate living in the city. When asked,  many angelenos will say they hate the city, hate living here, or if they happen to go away on business, vacation, or more usually until some statute of limitations runs out, they can’t wait to get back so they can enjoy haing living here some more. Why?

Of course there is the traffic, but balanced against that you have bars, clubs, museums, hundreds of things to do of an evening rivaled (okay beaten) only by New York for nightlife. What do these people think will happen if they admit to liking urban living?

    “Isn’t L.A. great?”
    “He’s enjoying himself! Get him!”

Okay, admittely, life isn’t fantastic for the people who are homeless, hungry, living in poverty etc. However, I am not referring to them, and even most of them can find something about Los Angeles they like even if it a favorite bridge to sleep under, the abundance of food in dumpsters left by obese americans, or the beautiful weather that makes forced outdoor living at least a shade more bearable. I am talking about young to middle aged students and professionals who complain and pine for the peace, quiet, and tranquility of those living in the country.

Well i’ll tell you hwat (intentional typo). If you think the countryside would be so much better, go live there. Half the reason you can appreciate a fw moments of silence or beauty is because every day you are confronted by noise or ugliness that give you something to comapre it too. Cliche as it may seem, the grass is always greener on the other side. There are a whole bunch of disadvantages as a rural member of society as well, but we don’t see them cause we are too busy living the life of haute coteure.

Okay, that rant didn’t really go anywhere, but i like ranting. It’s cathartic. Also cathartic is random moments of sheer spontaneous fun. We need more of this in our lives

    Snowball Nuns

then perhaps these nuns wouldn’t be trying to kill each other. Death by snowball is a horrible way to go.

Oh and quick sidebars to a couple people because continuing conversations through e-props and comments get confusing when they have nothing to do with posts

madlyrita: Do not hate democrats, those quotes are from tv, movies, random street people…I am an equal opportunity mocker: I hate everyone equally

ken: I would give up bitching for Lent, but I have decided to instead give up religion: Loophole!

Monica: where were you at the stand up show? did i miss you again?

Everyone else: Umm…nothing reall personal to add, just didn’t want all y’all to feel left out

With the weather getting all nice and sunny and disgustingly hot again I am contemplating another skydiving trip. Perhaps sometime in May? Anyone interested? Ken, as soon as I have a better idea, more details shall be forthcoming

So THAT’S how they learn to do it. And here I thought it was just one of those jobs you sorta picked up as you went along
