  • Okay I know it is not technically black history month yet, but i figured since we are getting next monday off for Martin Luther King, I would put up info about another accomplished African American

So here is your nugget of info:

During his lifetime George Washington Carver developed 325 products from peanuts, 108 products from sweet potatoes, 75 applications of pecans, 118 industrial products from agricultural products and over 500 dyes from the plants, which was incredible

So yeah, cool guy, but dude: WHAT IS WITH THE PEANUTS? Was he all obsessed with the peanut and making of things from it, or was that simply what was availble to him? What if he had invented things out of the banana? When he showed his friends a new peanut based invention, were they outwardly all polite and supportive, and then like ” Oh christ another peanut thing” the minute he left? What do YOU think?

And back to the news…Jon Stewart had a great spot on Bush’s Social Security Plan. You should all go to comedy central website and watch it. My favorite line:

So, the president doesn’t read the papers, the only real information he gets he gets from his loyal aids and even when he goes to a town hall meeting to meet the people they’ve been pre-selected. Our president is living in the Truman Show. Nothing happens around him that isn’t planned. I don’t even think he knows were out here watching

And speaking of our fearless leader, he apparently desperately wants his torture. The senate tried to pass a bill that would place more restrictions on interrogation procedures preventing torture, but Dubya was having none of that

“But in intense closed-door negotiations, Congressional officials said, four senior members from the House and Senate deleted the restrictions from the final bill after the White House expressed opposition.

In a letter to members of Congress, sent in October and made available by the White House on Wednesday in response to inquiries, Condoleezza Rice, the national security adviser, expressed opposition to the measure on the grounds that it “provides legal protections to foreign prisoners to which they are not now entitled under applicable law and policy”

Sometimes I am deeply afraid for where our country is going. The rest of the time, I am too busy studying

Remember the boulder pic from the california rain? Take a closer look

Poor wicked witch of the west, she just cant catch a break. I wouldnt go outside if I were here either (thanks Ken!)

Umm, I am out of things to say for now. Except that it is 4 degrees outside. Yes, 4. As in 1, 2, 3, 4. 4 degrees. Ah-ha ha ha

    Sorry, Count.

Josh: You had him at hello
