Not a lot has been going on lately…
I am still waiting with less than 25 days to go until I find out where I match, so I cant talk about interviews or ranking. The first because they are over, and the second because it is bad luck
I am i finishing up an infectious disease elecive with only one week to go. It has been for the most part educational, but this close to the finish line I am somewhat less motivated than in the beginning of the year.
When i began, I was able to think of an interesting way to tell you about every patient I saw…everyone has a story and I was overjoyed to be able to tell it.
However, while I still enjoy and love what I am doing, certain things have become somewhat routine, and I admit I have been occasionally guilty of seeing the disease and not the person. So how do I make treating an abscess or respiratory distress exciting for you, my audience, when I see 12 or so a day, and I dont hold the same wonder for me?
It is a question I have not yet been able to answer, and until I can, the patient stories have been put on the back burner.
