Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot.
I love my life, especially when the spontaneous fairy sneaks up on me and whacks me over the head with his sock full of good luck quarters

Perhaps the good luck fairy enjoys his job a little TOO much. Anyway so here is a loosley paraphrased transcript from work yesterday
Me: Blah Blah Blah (in Japanese of course)
Boss on Phone: Yeah. Uh-huh. Right. The Roots? No. Never heard of them. Sorry can’t make it
Me: Did you say the roots????!!!
Boss: Yeah, why?
Me: I love the Roots!
Boss: Well E3 is having some fancy party and they will be there
Me: Oh.
Boss: If you want, I will give you my tickets, I can’t make it
Me: Really?
Boss: Yeah, you should go…there will be free booze, never pass that up
Me: Well, put that way…………….okay
Of course, my Boss is British, so our actualk conversation sounded much cooler than what I have described above
So I met caroline leaving work and here is our convo
Me: Want to see the roots?
Caroline: When?
Me: Now…let’s go
So yeah, rolled up in front of Park Plaza Hotel in the city right behind a porsche, two limos, and some other really nice car, and proceeded to follow them to the free valet parking…in my honda civic
….with all of caroline’s stuff in the back…oh yeah!
Caroline and I then proceeded to check in under our assumed names like some sort of superspies, and waltzed up to the Grand Ballroom where the party was (yes, intentional pun)
First thing I see is two impressive ice sculptures of martini glasses next to the full bar, also free. Now as I will be driving back, I merely had a sip or two of caroline’s midori sour, but she was able to get all the drinks she wanted, as they had every possible type of alcohol I’ve ever heard of there, and even a few I hadn’t.
Next thing I see is my coworkers, who I say hello to, and then to the buffet, where there was a veritable cornucopia of meats, cheeses, vegetable, and pasta to snack on with the booze.
And lest I forget, the most awesome part of the night, and my main reason for going to the party, THE ROOTS live and in person. Caroline and I not only got to see the roots perform for free, with vip treatment, but we were so close, we could have grabbed the arm hairs off the keyboard player. We could see Black Thought all sweating and everything. Assuming this was an event you could buy tickets too, we would have had the reaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllly expensive seats….but of course we were on the guest list, so didn’t have to buy anything. Roots had an incredible set, about 2 hours or so, although we had to leave a little early because sadly, I did have class this morning.
However, still got to see a great band up close and personal. And to put the icing on the cake, we each got a free gift on the way out….A portable USB drive….retail value….about $150.00
How sweet is my life? Not to mention my birthday is coming up on monday may 17th, when I will turn 23. In case any of you wanted to shower me with gifts or attention or anything

I will be the ripe old age of 23! corner pieces of cake for all!

Haha, I remember you talking about that before Japanese class started the following day. You were all excited, too.
