  • Got wood?

Well our vacation has almost drawn to a close…the last day was spent trying to visit a few things we felt we couldnt leave Thailand without seeing

Things like the Abishiek Dusit Throne Hall

That entire building exists for the sole purpose of storing a chair. A chair that is nowhere near as fancy or expensive as the building which i could not take pictures of the interior of

The vimanmek teak mansion, made entirely of teak wood.

And then another place tracked down by yours truly, the Chao Tuptim Shrine

can you guess what kind of spirit the tuptim shrine guardian is?

if you guessed “fertility” congratulations! you win!

So yes, i enjoy traveling off the beaten path…or is that beating off the traveling path..

…was that too much? i never know

Here is the lobby of the 5 star swissotel that contains the shrine above. The help staff laughed heartily when they realized what we were looking for.

We ended the night with bowling…sadly, this bowling pin is the closest i got to seeing the karen natives on this trip since 10 days was not enough time to make it up to northern thailand. But that’s okay, cuz it gives me something to see next trip!

Well, hope you enjoyed my trip through thailand at least half as much as i did. All the albums can be found at my picasa albums, and after one brief pic post about some of the delicious thai food i enjoyed, it will be back to your regularly scheduled musings
